- The old traditional house stands near the parish church. Fajã Grande village has only some 200 inhabitants in the "alternative" West Coast of Flores, being Europe's Westmost village. It is situated on the seashore of a coastal plain and enclosed by a high cliff with 20 waterfalls. A few minutes from home (5-10 mins. walking distance) are natural rock pools in the ocean, water holes under the waterfalls, a couple of restaurants and beach facilities, a natural sea-water swimming pool for children and some little taverns. All this lying under the orange sunset over the ocean. Dating back at least three centuries, the original building was thoroughly remodelled in 1929, when it featured the first bathroom in Fajã Grande, then remodelled again by actual owner between 1998 and 2001 and again in 2010 to accomodate the guesthouse.
