German Speaking IT/Help Desk Specialist Server Administrator Web Developer

Opportunity Summary

Hello,

my name is Christian, I am 25 years old and currently based in Nuremberg, Germany but looking to make the move to the UK starting next year.
I am in particular looking for long-term employment in the IT/Computing sector.

I have experience in the following fields:

- Programming and web-development (PHP, MySQL, Interbase/Firebird, HTML, JavaScript) (6 years)

- IT administration (Linux-based web servers (Apache), file servers (Samba and NFS), DNS servers (BIND), etc.) (6 years)

- Support and Help Desk.

I have been working at a local university as a field technician, supporting Windows XP and 2000-based workstations (both software and hardware wise), printers, networks, etc. and Linux-based servers. In addition to that I do also have call centre experience, having worked at a major German public authority's central help desk as a 1st level support agent, where I was responsible for taking, troubleshooting and (if necessary) forwarding support enquiries related to standard software (i.e. Windows and Microsoft Office products) but also client-specific software and a variety of hardware (such as printers, monitors, faxes, telephones, etc). I am familiar with Remedy ARS. (2 years)

- Working with and administration of Mac OS X-based systems (1 1/2 years)

I also have substantial knowledge in the hardware area, i.e. I am able to assemble and repair computer hardware. (10 years)


My language skills include German (native, accent-free) and English (fluent both written and spoken).

I am a national of Germany, so work permits are not required.
I am available to start working in the UK from March or April 2007, I'm available for interviews (both in person or over the telephone) at any time.
