Example:
You have 3 legs: Sue, Ryan and Steve.
Sue has 2000 GQP, Ryan has 300 GQP and Steve has 500 GQP.
If you are going for the Supervisor rank (2000GQP), you can only use 800 points from each leg (2000 x .40= 800).
So you have 800 (max) from Sue, 300 from Ryan and 500 from Steve.
